Supreme Court of India YouTube Channel Hacked to Promote XRP Cryptocurrency

The official YouTube channel of the Supreme Court of India has reportedly been hacked, with the channel now promoting XRP, a cryptocurrency developed by Ripple Labs. The hacker has removed all previous videos, including important live proceedings and case hearings, leaving viewers unable to access past content.

This channel plays a vital role in live streaming significant court hearings, including high-profile cases such as the ongoing investigation into a serious crime at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Recently, the Supreme Court utilized its YouTube platform to broadcast sensitive hearings, including a notable suo motu case involving a tragic rape and murder. Viewers looking for these critical updates were shocked to discover that hackers had set all previous content to private.

Instead of legal proceedings, the channel now features a live stream titled “Brad Garlinghouse: Ripple Responds to the SEC’s $2 Billion Fine! XRP Price Prediction,” which diverts attention from the court's important work.

As a result of this incident, YouTube has suspended the Supreme Court of India’s channel, with plans to restore it soon. This hacking incident underscores a growing issue where scammers are targeting popular channels. Ripple Labs has even filed a lawsuit against YouTube for failing to adequately protect its brand.

Reports indicate that these scammers gain control of well-known YouTube channels to promote fraudulent schemes, offering easy XRP rewards in exchange for initial payments. The hacking of the Supreme Court’s YouTube channel raises serious concerns about the security of prominent online platforms.

Viewers are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity, as the court relies on this channel for transparency in legal proceedings. This incident highlights the ongoing struggle against online fraud and the urgent need for enhanced protections for high-profile channels on platforms like YouTube.
